I ordered this and misunderstood what it truly was. It appears that it will work as it should. It seems easy to use at it is plug and play as long as you know where that port is in your car.

I installed this on my 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali truck with a 6.2 engine. This is literally plug and play. It works perfectly as described and allows your engine to run correctly without dropping cylinders or shutting off at stoplights. It allows you to use your engine as it was built, and gets you up to speed quickly by disabling the function that tries to save gas by shutting off cylinders. The size of it is perfect and tight fitting in the OBD2 port, it��s durable as well as out of the way when driving. I personally leave it plugged in and have not seen any drain on battery life.

Works Definitely disables DFM,however, the light still comes on for auto stop but it does prevent it from shutting engine off at stoplights.

So far so good ; truck performs better , I drive on weekends and this hasn��t drained my battery down yet; only thing I don��t like is at night the lights in the unit flash in cab . I may put a piece of tape to cover

Got this for a 2017 chevrolet silverado that ��shutters�� when you see the dash display go from 8 cylinders to 4 at highway speeds. Unit installs/removes in seconds and even though I have only used it a short time it seems to have eliminated the shuttering problem. Very limited instructions printed on the box with no mention of what the red and green lights mean, which would be nice. It could be me but, it also seems to have improved the shifting of the transmission and actually improved my fuel mileage. Overall a very cost effective solution to prolonging the life of these engines which are notorious for failing due to the active fuel management system.

I have a Generation 6 Camaro SS with a 6.2L engine. The car has been relatively trouble-free and just hit 100,000 miles. However, I am aware of the issues with the AFM system, and as the mileage adds up, I am getting more worried. I decided my strategy was going to be to run the car about 90% of the time with AFM disabled, but enable it at regular intervals so that varnish doesn't build up and cause issues. I'll probably just pull the dongle out for the last day or two of each month. I have been driving around with this dongle installed for a week now. No check engine lights or other issues. Others have reported rather dramatic increases in gas mileage, probably mostly attributable to more aggressive driving while testing. I'm only seeing about a .5 mpg loss in mixed residential driving, and the AFM is definitely disabled. So far so good. We will put a few thousand miles on it and report back if there are any issues that pop up.
